PURPOSE: A ballast water filtering and sterilizing apparatus is provided to perform a filtering process and a sterilizing process with one apparatus at the same time, and to reduce the processing space of ballast water. CONSTITUTION: A ballast water filtering and sterilizing apparatus comprises the following: an external housing(110); an inlet(120) inserting sea water into the external housing; a hollow filter(130) filtering the sea water; an electrode(140) for the electrolysis surrounding the outer circumference of the hollow filter; an outlet(150) discharging the filtered and sterilized sea water to the outside; a drain(160) discharging cleaning water to clean the housing; an inlet valve to control the insertion of the sea water; and an outlet valve controlling the discharge of the cleaning water.
