<p>A method of manufacturing a magnetic-disk glass substrate includes a mirror-polishing process for mirror-polishing the main surface of a glass substrate 1 using a polishing solution containing silica particles. In the mirror-polishing process, the potential difference between aggregates of the silica particles or impurity particles and the glass substrate 1 is controlled so as to prevent the aggregates of silica particles or the impurity particles from adhering to the glass substrate.
