<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller type one-way clutch improved in reliability by providing a configuration for discharging trash accumulated in the clutch to the outside. <P>SOLUTION: The one-way clutch is provided with: an outer ring 1 provided with: pockets 4; and grooves 20 on an inner diameter side of one axial end surface; an inner ring arranged concentrically in relation to the outer ring 1; rollers 3 arranged in the pockets 4 and transmitting torque between the outer ring 1 and inner ring; a retainer 6 including a cylindrical part 10, a flange part extending from one axial end surface of the cylindrical part 10 in the outer diameter direction, and projections 25 provided on the cylindrical part 10, the cylindrical part 10 being provided with windows 18; springs 5 arranged between the outer ring 1 and rollers 3 in the pockets 4 and biasing the rollers 3 in the engagement direction with cam surfaces 12; and a sided plate 7 fixed to abut on an axial end surface of the outer ring 1 and having spline grooves 9 in the inner diameter portion.
