PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for testing deterioration of a sealing material for precisely confirming a deterioration state of the sealing material caused by a dynamic behavior of a joint part, having a simple structure and excellent in handleability. SOLUTION: In the device for testing the deterioration of the sealing material, one of joint constituting members 2A and 2B placed opposite is energized in an approaching and separating direction with respect to the other one of them using usual spring materials 4 and 4 and shape memory spring materials 5 and 5. When the shape memory springs 5 and 5 are set to temperature lower than predetermined temperature, one of the joint constituting members 2A and 2B is moved in the direction of separating from the other one of them by the energizing force of the normal spring materials 4 and 4 to stretch the sealing material S and, when the shape memory spring materials 5 and 5 reach a predetermined temperature or above to restore a shape, one of them is moved in the direction of approaching the other one of them by the energizing force of the shape memory spring materials 5 and 5 to compress the sealing material S.
