<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply, rapidly and accurately measuring the degree of entanglement of synthetic fiber filament to which entanglement is imparted by interlace processing or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The degree of entanglement of the synthetic fiber filament 5, to which entanglement is imparted, is measured by the step (1) for putting water in a container 1 to float an entangled filament on the surface of the water, the step (2) for arranging a reflecting rod 3 emitting a color different from that of the entangled filament under the entangled filament in the container and setting the interval between the entangled filament and the reflecting rod to 1-5 mm, and the step (3) for irradiating the reflecting rod with the light from the light source 4 above the container to reflect the light and visually measuring the number of the entangled parts of the entangled filament to calculate the degree of entanglement of the entangled filament.
