The four-stroke combustion engine (1) has multiple cylinders (2) with a mobile piston for driving a crankshaft. The piston is coupled with the crankshaft such that the movement of the piston is sifted in the cylinders. An inlet unit (3) is provided to each cylinder for controlled supply of air in the respective cylinder. An output unit (7) is provided to each cylinder for controlled discharge of combustion-exhaust gas from the cylinders in an exhaust section (8). The transfer line units (11,12) are provided for controlled guiding of combustion-exhaust gas of one cylinder to the other cylinder. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for operating a combustion engine; (2) an engine system with a unit; and (3) a computer program with program code.
