PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely prevent an index displayed on a display screen of a display device present in a real space from being detected wrongly as an index present in the real space. SOLUTION: An index detection unit 1040 acquires an index and image coordinates from an captured image data outputted from an imaging device 1010, and a position and orientation calculation unit 1050 calculates a position and an orientation of the imaging device 1010 using the acquired image coordinates, uQkn, and world coordinates xWQknwhich is retained as known information in advance. Furthermore, a wrong detection prevention processing unit 1060 searches candidate index regions using the calculated position and orientation of the imaging device 1010 and the world coordinates xWQknwhich is retained in advance, detects an index which has not been detected in the index detection unit 1040, and overlays a graphic or a small image on the index portion.
