PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is excellent in cleanability and capable of forming an excellent image over a long time. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus in which at least an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photoreceptive layer and a surface layer on a conductive substrate and a cleaning blade are mounted, a protrusion is formed on the surface of the surface layer and the surface layer and the protrusion include the same charge transferable compound cross-linked body. The number of protrusions having a height of ≥1/2×RzJIS is ≥40 and ≤90 per measurement length 12 mm, where the surface roughness of the surface layer is shown by RzJIS and the linear pressure of the top end ridge line portion of the cleaning blade with respect to the electrophotographic photoreceptor is ≥80g/cm and ≤150g/cm.
