The container has a heating element (24) e.g. heating conductor, for heating a medium i.e. water (18), filled into the container. A laminar element is made of a ferromagnetic material, and the heating element is spatially assigned to the laminar element. A control panel is provided for manual activation or deactivation of the heating element. The control panel is integrated into a kitchen worktop (14) beside a heatable sink (12) or a vertical front side of a sink base unit. The control panel includes a display element for indicating an operating status of the heating element.
