PURPOSE: A control method of a recording device is provided to enable rapid search on video data in the installation of multiple non-volatile memories by grasping appreciate position of the image data on the main recorded information. CONSTITUTION: A controller loads the main record information of a specific hard disk drive on DRAM(Dynamic Random Access Memory)(S601). If register begins, the controller renews the main record information and detailed record information until the termination of the register(S603,S605). If search data is inputted, the controller finds the location information of the video file in the main record information(S607,S609). The controller fins address in the detailed record information(S611). The controller outputs image data corresponding to the address(S613).
