PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily dispose of a used ink cartridge as flammable garbage. SOLUTION: This ink cartridge is equipped with an ink tank for storing ink, and a joint part 12 which is connected to the ink tank. The joint part 12 comprises an outer frame 15 wherein an ink channel 17 for making the ink tank communicate with an outside is formed, and a sealing member 16 which is housed in the outer frame 15 and composed of a rubber. The sealing member 16 has a swelling valve 19 and a plate-like valve 20, which close the ink channel 17 by abutting on the outer frame 15 when an ink supply pipe 41 is not inserted and which open the ink channel 17 by being separated from the outer frame 15 when the pipe 41 is inserted.
