发明名称 BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES
摘要
955,151. Changing batteries at fixed stations. BARRETT ELECTRONICS CORPORATION. Oct. 3, 1960 [Oct. 1, 1959], No. 33796/60. Heading H2H. In a mechanical transport system, wherein a battery-powered vehicle 11 is guided optically, magnetically, or by other means, along a track 13 and is prevented from approaching too closely a preceding vehicle 11 by means of a signalling system, the battery is given a boosting charge each time it rests at a signal. At each signal 14 which may be of optical, magnetic, or other type, a sensing device 15 disconnects the battery from the driving motor when another vehicle 11 occupies the section ahead. As the vehicle 11 approaches a signal, a sensing means 18 detects a signal from a beacon 16 and operates a reversible motor advancing a set of contact carrying arms 24 which engage with conductor rails 26a-26d, rails 26a, 26b being energized from the battery to close a contactor connecting rails 26c, 26d to the charging supply. If the vehicle is stopped at a signal, a zero speed relay closes contacts completing the supply circuit to the battery. On cessation of the signal from 14, the driving motor is energized and contacts 25a-25d slide along rails 26a-26d and are retracted when the influence of the beacon 16 is lost.
