A can end (10) for a two-piece beverage can is described. The can end (10) has a center panel (18) positioned about a vertical center axis. The center panel (18) has a means for opening the can end (10) located on a public side. A circumferential strengthening member is located about the center panel (18). A wall (14) extends upwardly from the circumferential strengthening member. A curl (12) is joined to an upper end of the wall (14). The curl (12) defines an outer perimeter of the can end (10). A reinforcing bead is located on the wall (14) between an uppermost portion of the wall (14) and a lowermost portion of the wall (14).
