PURPOSE: A content reproduction apparatus and a method are provided to control content reproduction speed using reproduction data for controlling content reproduction speed by receiving desired total reproduction time and user preference information and acquiring the reproduction data based on desired total reproduction time and user preference information. CONSTITUTION: A content reproduction apparatus(400) comprises user preference information(410), reproduction data acquisition part(420), and a reproducer(430). The user preference information receives desired total reproduction time data and user preference information including at least one of a user preferring content section or content details from the outside. The reproduction data acquisition part acquires reproduction data for controlling content reproduction speed based on the desired total reproduction time and the user preference information. The reproducer controls the content reproduction speed using the reproduction data.
