<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input system not needing a dedicated position detection device for detecting a position of an input device on a display screen, and not needing to calibrate coordinates of the detected position and a display image. <P>SOLUTION: The input system includes: an image generation device generating an image; a display device displaying the image; and the input device capable of being movement-operated, having a tip part capable of coming in contact with the display screen of the display device, a photodetection part detecting incident light onto the tip part, a processing part performing prescribed processing based on a detection result of the photodetection part, and a transmission part communicating with the image generation device.
