<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and a method for preventing the contact of a recording medium with a recording head caused by the lifting of the recording medium which is held and conveyed by a conveying mechanism such as a drum. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device includes a conveying means 126c for conveying the recording medium 114, the recording heads 140C, 140M, 140Y, 140K forming images on the recording medium 114 conveyed by the conveying means 126c, a guide member 506 arranged at the upstream side in the direction of the conveyance of the recording medium 114 more than the recording heads 140C, 140M, 140Y, 140K to prevent the recording medium 114 from being lifted from the conveying means 126c, a detecting means 504 arranged at the upstream side in the direction of conveyance more than the guide member 506 to detect a lift of the recording medium 114, and a forcibly stopping means for stopping the conveying means 126c before a lifted part reaches the recording head when the lift by the detecting means 504 is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
