<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for inter-vehicle distance capable of securing safe braking distance and improving running stability when an own vehicle tows a towed vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The controller 10 for inter-vehicle distance for controlling the inter-vehicle distance between the own vehicle and a preceding vehicle includes: a determination means 12 for determining whether the own vehicle tows the towed vehicle; an inter-vehicle distance determination means 14 for determining target inter-vehicle distance of the own vehicle and the preceding vehicle according to the determination result of the determination means 12; an acceleration and deceleration decision means 16 for deciding target acceleration and deceleration of the own vehicle according to the determination result of the determination means 12; and a control means 18 for controlling the own vehicle based on the target inter-vehicle distance and the target acceleration and deceleration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
