<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrodynamic pressure bearing device surely reducing sliding abrasion during starting and stoppage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A shaft member 2 rotatably supported by a housing 7 and a bearing sleeve 8 includes a shaft part 21, and a flange part 22 integrally or separately provided on a lower end of the shaft part 21. One magnetic pole 23 constituting a part of the flange part 22 is formed by a permanent magnet, and the other magnetic pole 11 is attached in a position for generating magnetic force in the thrust direction between the one magnetic pole 23 and it, for example, a lower end surface side of a bottom 7b of the housing 7.
