PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing hydrocarbon by which the hydrocarbon produced by a hydrocarbon producing microbe is selectively and efficiently recovered. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the hydrocarbon includes: a heat processing step (S3) to heat the aqueous slurry of the hydrocarbon producing microbe and hold the slurry at temperature of 45°C or more and less than 150°C; and a recovering step (S4) to recover an oily substance, containing the hydrocarbon produced by the hydrocarbon producing microbe, from the aqueous slurry.
