PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus with which a picture intended by a photographer can easily be taken by using visible light communication. SOLUTION: The image capturing apparatus includes a face position specifying unit for specifying a position of a face in a photographic image, a face recognition unit for recognizing the position of the face included in the photographic image, a position decision unit for determining a positional relationship between the position specified by the face position specifying unit and the position recognized by the face recognition unit, a data modulation unit for modulating information based on the decision result of the position decision unit, and a visible light emission unit for emitting a visible light on which the information modulated by the data modulation unit is superimposed.
