<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mobile terminal which enables easy length measurement without degrading user convenience. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This mobile terminal has a built-in measure having a measuring tape 5 being a string-like or belt-like material, and a reel 6 which is rotatably attached inside the mobile terminal and holds the measuring tape 5 so as to be wound up or out. Moreover, the mobile terminal includes an encoder 7 which is connected to the rotating shaft of the reel 6 and outputs a signal in proportion to the amount of rotation of the reel 6, and an arithmetic operation part 11 for computing a length of the measuring tape 5 wound out from the measure on the basis of the signal from the encoder 7.
