<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame detector that detects a flame with high sensitivity. <P>SOLUTION: The flame detector uses an infrared transmissive material made of either one of MgF<SB>2</SB>, spinel, CVD-ZnS, and transparent ZnS as a light transmissive window. At least one layer of antireflection coating layer is formed on one side or both sides of the infrared transmissive material.
