<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead storage battery for securing clairvoyance of a battery tub necessary for water refilling inspection without jeopardizing battery reaction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The lead storage battery necessitating water refilling inspection using a see-through resin-made battery tub is so structured that the tub includes a maximum liquid level line showing an upper limit and a minimum liquid level line showing a lower limit of electrolyte solution level, and a polyolefin-made absorbent material is provided at a position between the maximum liquid level line and the minimum liquid level line in compartments dividing the tub into a plurality of cell rooms.
