PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision detector for solving the problems associated with miniaturizing and thinning. SOLUTION: The collision detector 10 includes a coil 13, which is disposed inside of an outer panel 2a of a vehicle body consisting of a metal, facing the outer panel 2a, and generates a magnetic field to the direction of the outer panel 2a, and a process circuit 15 for detecting a collision of a matter to a vehicle body by detecting a deformation of the vehicle body based on a change in the inductance of the coil 13 and for outputting a collision detection signal. The collision detector has a circuit board 12 with a multilayer structure disposed facing the outer panel 2a, and the coil 13 and the process circuit 15 are formed in different layers in the multilayer structure, the layer of the process circuit 15 is disposed in a far site from the outer panel 2a than the layer of the coil 13, and a shield 14 layer is installed between the coil 13 layer and the process circuit layer 15.
