A patient (11) scatters the microwave signals, and the microwave receiver receives the scattered microwave signals using the antenna. The evaluating device stores the received microwave signals as reference microwave signals and later as set of monitoring microwave signals. The evaluating device determines a measured value from the reference microwave signals and the monitoring microwave signals. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring health conditions of a patient.
