PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printed matter which can be authenticated by superposing a first forgery prevention element and a second forgery prevention element. SOLUTION: In the printed matter 10, a watermark line pattern 11, which is the second forgery prevention element capable of confirming density degree caused by change of thickness, density of paper, or the like by transmissive observation, and a demetallized OVD (optical variable device) foil 4, which is the first forgery prevention element, are arranged in different parts on paper 2. By folding the printed matter 10 and closely contacting the watermark line pattern 11 with the demetallized OVD foil 4, light is shut off or reduced by a metal vapor deposition part 7a on the demetallized OVD foil 4 and a part of the paper other than the watermark line pattern 11, light strongly penetrates only a part where a vapor non-deposition part 7b on the demetallized OVD foil 4 and the watermark line pattern 11 are positioned, and therefore a pattern different from the watermark line pattern 11 and the demetallized pattern can be observed by transmissive observation.
