PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display panel having a contact with an extraction electrode which is stable in performance and with the passage of time while suppressing deterioration of the electron injecting layer upon film forming, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the organic EL display panel, a substrate with a thin-film transistor having a gate electrode, a source electrode and a drain electrode is formed, and a pixel electrode which is connected in extension to the source electrode or the drain electrode is formed. A hole transporting layer and an organic light-emitting layer are formed on the pixel electrode, and an electron injecting layer and a counter electrode are formed on the organic light-emitting layer using a first shadow mask, and a contact electrode which electrically connects an extraction electrode and the counter electrode laid-out on the substrate side is formed so as to cover the side face of the electron injecting layer and the counter electrode using a second shadow mask.
