The invention relates to a method for producing synthesis gas comprising the steps of: A) forming synthesis gas by gasifying organic substances, B) converting the synthesis gas from step A), and C) possibly purifying the converted synthesis gas from step B), wherein at least one volatile transition metal compound is added to the method in at least one of the steps A) and B).
