PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a purified hydrocarbon oil, comprising hydrogenating a hydrocarbon oil to reduce a sulfur content and a nitrogen content contained in the hydrocarbon oil, by which the reduction in an aroma content contained in a <150°C fraction in the hydrocarbon oil can be prevented. SOLUTION: There is provided the method for producing the purified hydrocarbon oil, comprising hydrogenating the raw material hydrocarbon oil which has a distillation property having a 10 vol.% distillation temperature of 50 to 95°C and a 97 vol.% distillation temperature of 220 to 300°C and in which the ratio of a total aroma content in the hydrocarbon oil to an aroma content contained in a fraction having a boiling point of <150°C is 0.3 to 0.9.
