<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular control device constantly performing adequate vehicle control without being affected by surrounding light. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing unit 3 as an analysis means performs the authentication of a person by executing the analysis processing (for example, authentication processing using a template) of an optical modulation image outputted from an optical modulation camera 2. A control unit 4 permits the start of an engine to a first electronic control unit 10 only when a person seated in a driver's seat is authenticated by the image processing unit 3.
