<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption in motion vector detection. <P>SOLUTION: An F<SB>s</SB>calculation section 340 calculates the sum of absolute values of spatial luminance differences showing the luminance differences between pixels to predetermined pixels in reference blocks set to reference frames. An F<SB>t</SB>calculation section 330 calculates the sum of absolute values of temporal luminance differences showing the luminance differences between pixels corresponding each other in correspondence blocks in referred frames corresponding to the reference blocks and the reference blocks. An L calculation section 370 calculates search ranges in the reference frames for searching motion vectors, based on the sum of the absolute values of the spatial luminance differences and the sum of the absolute values of temporal luminance differences. A block matching calculation section 870 calculates the motion vectors by setting referred blocks based on the search ranges from the L calculation section 370 and by block matching based on the correlation between the set referred blocks and the reference blocks. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
