PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently perform photographing even when a frame rate of an image to be photographed is low. SOLUTION: In an imaging apparatus which displays moving image data captured and outputted by an imaging section 101 onto a display section 104, a control means 110 is provided for controlling the moving image data outputted from the imaging section 101 to individually set a value of a frame rate of a moving image to be displayed on the display section 104 and a value of a frame rate of a moving image to be recorded on a recording medium 108. By preventing trouble in which the frame rate of a captured image to be displayed on the display section 104 becomes low while a video image of a low frame rate is being captured, even while a video image of a low frame rate is being captured, an update cycle of a display screen of the display section 104 can be prevented from becoming long.
