摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display driving device capable of mitigating the degree of degradation of image quality visualized when extending image data and dimming backlight. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The display driving device produces an extension coefficient having a relationship obtained by dividing the maximum gradation value which display data possess with a gradation threshold as a gradation value smaller than the maximum gradation value, supplies the display data extended based on the extension coefficient to a display device and performs dimming control of the backlight module based on the reciprocal of the extension coefficient. A part where a gradation difference for an adjacent pixel exists before extension of the image but the gradation difference is removed after the extension of the image is counted. That is, at every prescribed data amount such as display frame unit of the display data, a frequency with which such a state that gradations are equal to each other between adjacent pixels and both gradations exceed the gradation threshold occurs is measured. The gradation threshold is changed in such a direction that the measurement results fall into a prescribed allowable range. Thereby, in accordance with the degree of gradation of the display data, such a control as to dynamically change the degree of extension and the degree of dimming is performed.
