PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus which facilitates immediate conveyance of information to a user. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus performs route guidance to a set destination by displaying map information in a display means. The system includes a function of laying a map on top of a displaying screen 100 and displaying the information related to points on the map, with balloon displays 103-106 or the like. As to these balloon displays, the contents to be displayed in enlargement/highlighting are changed according to the case when a route to a searched destination is guided and according to other cases.
