PURPOSE: A vacuum cleaner and a control method thereof are provided to automatically move the main body of a vacuum cleaner by a driving part. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum cleaner(1) comprises: a main body(10); a main wheel(20) which moves the main body; a driving motor(70) which drives the main wheel; a sensor which senses the rotation of the main body; and a controller(80) which controls the operation of the driving motor by comparing the sensing value with a standard value.
