PURPOSE: An internal voltage generating circuit is provided to reduce the stress created in an internal circuit which uses the internal voltage by generating the internal voltage which is constant at all times regardless of the external power voltage. CONSTITUTION: An internal voltage generation unit(510) generates an internal voltage corresponding to a target voltage level by driving an internal voltage terminal with the external power voltage. A current sinking unit(530) implements the sinking operation by controlling the amount of leakage current flowing in into the internal voltage terminal according to the external power voltage.
