A pipe joint for connecting underground pipes or sheath pipes to each other, wherein the pipe joint has sufficient water stop ability, projection of a water-absorbing swelling material into a pipe and crushing of an end of the pipe are minimized in use for a long period of time, and the pipe joint can be easily manufactured.  A pipe joint (1) has a seal material integrally provided to the inner peripheral surface of a substantially circular tube-like pipe joint body member (11) so as to face the outer peripheral surface of pipes which are to be connected to each other.  The seal material is configured by including a first seal material (12) provided in a helical pattern having a predetermined pitch and also including a second seal member (13) provided so as to bridge adjacent portions of the first seal material.  At least one of the first seal material (12) or the second material (13) consists of the water-absorbing swelling material.
