PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition capable of improving mechanical strength of a resin-molded article even when using a hydrophobic matrix resin etc. SOLUTION: The resin composition includes hydrophobized cellulosic fibers and a synthetic resin (B) and is obtained by mechanically shearing the cellulosic fibers (A) and the synthetic resin (B) in a solvent, including microfibers of the cellulosic fibers (A) and the fined synthetic resin (B) (microfibers of the synthetic resin (B) and the like). At least the microfibers of the cellulosic fibers (A) may be hydrophobized with a hydrophobizing agent (C) (a sizing agent, paper-strengthing agent, fats, wax, hydrophobic resin and the like).
