PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a window frame attaching member which is used for changing the existing window of a building to a double-glazed window by newly attaching a window thereto, manufacturable at low cost and installable easily. SOLUTION: A window frame 22 for an existing window 21 is held by the outer wall 20 of the building through a joist 24 for the outer wall 20 and the inner wall 23. A new window 26 is attached to the existing window 21 using a window frame attaching member 25 for remodeling to form a double-glazed window. The window frame attaching member 25 has an L-shape in cross section in which an attaching part 25a and the fixing part 25b of the new window 26 are connected at a right angle to each other. The attaching part 25a is attached to the existing outer wall 20 so as to surround the existing window 21 with the same thickness S as that of the furring strip 31 of an armoring material 30 which covers the outer wall 20 of the building, and the attaching part 25a is covered by the armoring material 30. A window frame 26a is fixed to the end 25c of the fixing part 25b, and the end 25c and the window frame 26a are covered by a cover member 26b. An air layer serving as a heat-insulation layer is formed in a gap Q surrounded by the existing window 21, the new window 26 and the fixing part 25b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
