<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently correspond to a large muffler, and to enable reduction of the number of parts or the like, by combining a bracket for muffler fixing and a scaffolding board. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a muffler installment structure for a construction machine provided with an engine 10 and a muffler 11 in a rear part of a revolving super structure 4, the bracket 17 for muffler fixing used also as a scaffolding board for maintenance is fixed to a top face of the engine 10, and the muffler 11 is installed in a lower face side of the bracket 17. Or, the scaffolding board-cum-bracket 17 for muffler fixing is formed like a hook, and a vertical face part 19 fixed with an L-shaped lower end and an upper part horizontal face part 20 connected to an upper end of the vertical face part 19 are provided on the top face of the engine 10.
