<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a system for image recognition of a person using element information of a human body. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image recognition system includes: a photographing part 1A which photographs the human body; a human body detection part 1 which detects the predetermined human body elements from the image photographed by the photographing part 1A; a human body information recording part 2 in which the human body image information regarding the human body elements is recorded; a comparison determination part 3 which compares the human body elements detected by the human body detection part 1 and the human body image information recorded in the human body information recording part 2 and determines the degree of coincidence of them; a coefficient multiplication part 4 which multiplies the degree of coincidence determined by the comparison determination part 3 by a weight predefined for each human body element; a coincidence tabulation part 5 which totals all the human body elements whose degree of coincidence for each human body element multiplied with the weight by the coefficient multiplication part 4 is detected; and a human body determination part 6 which determines whether the human body of the photographed image coincides with the human body of the human body image information recorded in the human body information recording part 2 or not according to the value calculated by the coincidence tabulation part 5.
