PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for maintaining efficiency of a cooling system for a boil-off gas reliquefaction apparatus are provided to control refrigerant supply amount without abnormally opening an anti-surge valve and a bypass valve. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for maintaining efficiency of a cooling system for a boil-off gas reliquefaction apparatus includes a plurality of compressors(21) for compressing refrigerant which are installed in multi-stage. An intercooler(22) is installed on the downstream of the compressor for cooling the temperature of the compressed refrigerant. The apparatus comprises: a refrigerant flow control valve which is installed on a refrigerant supply line; a refrigerant temperature sensor which is installed on a refrigerant circulation line; and a refrigerant flow control module(30) sending a control signal to the refrigerant flow control valve according to the temperature which is measured from the refrigerant temperature sensor.
