PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power unit which is used for a motorcycle with a hydraulic cylinder for on-off operation of a clutch, achieving compact construction and securing a sufficient bank angle. SOLUTION: The power unit 50 comprises an engine crankshaft, a main shaft having a hole formed inside, the clutch, a push rod passing through the hole of the main shaft, a clutch release cylinder 465 for moving the push rod in the axial direction, a driving shaft connected to the main shaft, and a driving sprocket 426 mounted at one end of the driving shaft. In the side view, an axial center Cm of the main shaft is located above a line between an axial center Cc of the crankshaft and an axial center Cd of the driving shaft and part of the clutch release cylinder 465 is overlapped with the axial center Cm of the main shaft.
