A resilient support, e.g. for use in seats and bedding, comprises a moulded resilient platform 10, e.g. of rubber, having peripheral attachment points such as tongues 15, a pad 11 of framed rubber or plastics, and a cover of plain or patterned, weldable thermoplastic material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, comprising a sheet or sheets 12, 18 covering the pad 11 and a part of the platform 10 and secured by welding completely through the pad 11. In one embodiment (Fig. 1), the cover sheets 12, 18 are welded together around their edges 20 and through apertures in the pad 11 and platform 10, the tongues 15 extending through slits 19 in one sheet 18 and having moulded in reinforcing members engaged by frame attachment hooks 16. In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), the tongues are provided on only two edges of the platform and they extend through unwelded peripheral portions of the cover. In a further embodiment Fig. 8, the lower sheet 18 is replaced by buttons 25 of thermoplastic material, which buttons 25 are welded as at 21 through apertures in the pad 11 and platform 10 to the upper sheet 12, the edge 26 of the latter being folded around the pad 11 and welded. A pad 11 may be provided on each side of the platform 10. A relatively stiff wire or plastics bending may be provided around the periphery of the pad.
