<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote monitoring system for grave visit that obtains face data of grave visitors by placing a monitor terminal nearby a tomb. <P>SOLUTION: The remote monitoring system 1 includes the monitor terminal 10 capable of acquiring an image from a monitor camera 18 installed nearby a tombstone 41, and a monitor server 20 capable of communicating with the monitor terminal 10 through the Internet 2. The monitor terminal 10 obtains face data 16 of a grave visitor 5a facing the tombstone 41, and transmits it as information 71 associated with tomb identification information 15 to the monitor server 20. The monitor server 20 collates the received face data 16 with face data 36 of relatives 5 registered in a relative database 30 to identify the grave visitor 5a, and informs the family 3 of the deceased of information on the grave visitor 5a.
