PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a siloxy group-containing silyl (meth)acrylate compound having a bulky substituent, having a slow hydrolytic rate, and providing a polymer useful as a raw material for a hydrolyzable self-polishing type polymer for a ship bottom paint or the like by being copolymerized with an alkyl methacrylate because the polymer copolymerized with the alkyl methacrylate can prevent an aquatic life from attaching to the surface by adding a small amount or non of a biocide. SOLUTION: The siloxy group-containing silyl (meth)acrylate compound having bulky substituents is represented by general formula (1) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each same or different 3-10C monovalent branched hydrocarbon having a hydrocarbon at theα- orβ-position, or a 3-10C monovalent cyclic hydrocarbon; R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>are each same or different 1-20C substituted or nonsubstituted hydrocarbon or a siloxy represented by general formula (2):-OSiR<SP>7</SP>R<SP>8</SP>R<SP>9</SP>(R<SP>7</SP>, R<SP>8</SP>and R<SP>9</SP>are each same or different 1-20C substituted or nonsubstituted hydrocarbon); and R<SP>6</SP>is hydrogen or methyl].
