PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chloroprene latex having sufficient balance of initial heat resistance strength and contact property and sufficient storage stability, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The chloroprene latex contains an emulsifier comprising an alkali metal salt of carboxylic acid, a chloroprene polymer and/or a chloroprene copolymer, and in the chloroprene latex, a gel content of the polymer is more than 0 wt.% to less than 3 wt.%.
