PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod capable of minimizing a water-exposed portion to prevent the deterioration in the adhesive force of an adhesive in excellent productivity. SOLUTION: The fishing rod has a thin flat tip section 2 and a solid bar-like connection member 10 which is engaged with the base end portion 3 of the tip section 2 and is detachably inserted into an attaching hole 5 formed in the tip end portion of a rear side member. A slit-like groove portion 12 for engaging with the base end portion 3 is formed in the connection member 10; the inner surface of the groove portion 12 and the outer surface of the base end portion 3 are fixed with an adhesive 20; and the exposed portion of the groove portion 12 on the outer peripheral surface of the connection member 10 is covered with a covering member 15.
