<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ascending/descending toilet bowl which has proper usability and excellent safety, and prevents an object from being sandwiched between a lower portion of the toilet bowl and a floor surface of a toilet when the toilet bowl is descended. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ascending/descending toilet bowl is characterized by including the toilet bowl, a movable frame to which the toilet bowl is fixed, a fixed frame which ascendingly/descendingly supports the toilet bowl and the movable frame in a state of being installed in a toilet room, an object detector which detects the presence or absence of the object between the lower portion of the toilet bowl and the floor surface of the toilet, and a storage portion for housing the movable frame and the fixed one; the storage portion houses drain piping which is installed in the rear of the toilet bowl from a front surface; a through-hole moving depending on the ascending/descending of the toilet bowl is provided in a front portion; and the object detector is provided in the storage portion.
