PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head gimbal assembly equipped with a light-guiding structure whose production cost can be reduced, and also to provide an information recording and reproducing device. SOLUTION: The head gimbal assembly 12 equipped with a light-guiding structure is installed in a rotary member which is supported to be rotatable around a pivot shaft arranged on the outside of a magnetic recording medium which rotates in a certain direction. In addition, the head gimbal assembly has: a supporting body 40 which is supported by the rotary member; a slider 2 which is installed on the front end part of the supporting body so that it may be opposite to the surface of the magnetic recording medium; an optical waveguide 32 which is connected to the slider and introduces light for heating the magnetic recording medium into the slider; a light source 20 which makes luminous flux incident into the optical waveguide; and an electric wire 31 which supplies electric power to the light source and the slider.
